Are you a resourceaholic?

I love maths teaching resources. Worksheets, card sorts, activities, interactive tools, puzzles, treasure hunts… I really really love them. I’m forever searching for the elusive ‘perfect resource’. I have a serious addiction. I am, most definitely, a resourceaholic. Are you one too? Here's the signs:

  • Your eyes light up when you find a website full of maths resources. You emerge hours later having downloaded absolutely everything.
  • You’re an expert with the school guillotine.
  • People who charge for resources make you want to cry… and reach for your wallet.
  • When a new teacher joins your department you keep peeking over their shoulder to see what they’re photocopying.
  • You send far too many emails to your colleagues with links to new resources. At department meetings people groan when you say you have ‘a few’ ideas to share.
  • You bookmark hundreds of websites that you never get time to look at.
  • You can spend days planning a single lesson because you just can’t find the perfect resource.
  • You get your suit dusty going through the old boxes of worksheets you discovered in the cupboard at school.
  • You dream about Google.
  • Your biggest frustration in life is that there’s thousands of good maths resources in the world that you’ll probably never discover.

So, are you a resourceaholic? Join the club.
